Designed specifically to aid those who are experiencing symptoms associated with urinary tract infections. If you are feeling pain during urination, experiencing increased frequency or sudden urges to urinate, or have lower abdominal pain, this test can help determine if you have a UTI.

This UTI test kit has been specifically designed to assist individuals experiencing symptoms related to urinary tract infections (UTI’s). Common symptoms associated with UTI’s include painful urination, increased frequency of urination, sudden urges to urinate, lower abdominal pain, the feeling of incomplete bladder emptying, cloudy or foul-smelling urine and blood in the urine.

Whilst these symptoms are commonly associated with infections of the lower urinary tract, UTI’s can also affect other parts of the body that play a role in urine production, known as upper UTI’s. In these cases, additional symptoms may include; high fever, chills, pain in the side or back, confusion and nausea.

This UTI test kit offers a convenient way to determine if an individual has a UTI, allowing them to seek appropriate medical attention as necessary. It is important to note that while this test can provide helpful information, it should not replace medical advice or treatment from a healthcare professional.

Instructions

To gather and analyse your sample, follow these simple steps:
To ensure accurate results, it is crucial to follow the proper testing procedure when using the UTI test kit. Firstly, allow both the testing strip and urine sample to reach room temperature (15-30 degrees Celsius) before testing. However, if testing directly from the urine stream, there is no need to follow this step.

Here are the steps to perform the UTI test:

1. Remove the testing strip from the sealed pouch. Hold the absorbent tip facing down in the urine stream over the toilet. Alternatively, place the absorbent tip directly into a cup of fresh urine that has been collected in a clean vessel. Ensure that the test pad is saturated with urine.
2. Place the absorbent tip onto a paper towel or tissue to remove any excess urine.
3. Lay the strip on a flat surface with the test pad facing upwards and start timing. It is important to time the test accurately to obtain reliable results.
4. Nitrate results can be read after 1 minute and leukocyte results can be read after 2 minutes. It is crucial to read the results within the specified time frame to avoid incorrect interpretations.
5. To interpret the results, compare the colour of the test pads on the strip with the colours on the provided colour chart. The chart indicates the different levels of nitrates and leukocytes present in the urine sample.

Following the correct testing procedure is essential to obtain reliable and accurate results using the UTI test kit. It is also crucial to note that while this test can provide helpful information, it should not replace medical advice or treatment from a healthcare professional.

Reading the Results

The UTI test kit provides a rapid diagnostic result, to determine if a UTI has been detected in the sample of urine provided. The UTI test strips will display two results, each with its own colour coding. If the colour on your UTI test strips matches the colour on the chart next to the word “Negative” after the designated time (1 minute for nitrates, 2 minutes for leukocytes), it means no UTI has been detected in your sample.

To find instructions on how to use the UTI test kit, refer to the full list of instructions provided below. It is important to carefully follow the instructions to ensure accurate results.

Unlike some home health kits, the UTI test strip used in our kit does not rely on a line appearing in a test window, as seen in many COVID testing kits. Instead, you will see a coloured square on the test strip, which should be checked against the provided colour chart. Please check the colour carefully and pay close attention to the exact shade. Remember to read the results after the correct time indicated in the instructions, to ensure accurate interpretation.
